Frostpunk 2 is a continuation of a strategy familiar to many about the survival of an entire nation in an ever-deteriorating climate. The graphics, as in the first part, are good and do not cause any complaints. Music helps to create a gloomy atmosphere of an inhospitable, freezing world. The characters are voiced realistically.
Chronologically, the action in this game takes place immediately after the completion of its first part.
An ecological catastrophe occurred on earth as a result of which a snow storm swept over the entire surface of the planet, killing most of the population. The temperature dropped rapidly and continues to drop further. Thirty years after the ice apocalypse, you must become the leader of a huge city trying to survive in this hell.
Try not to let people die, but remember that you can't please everyone.
To survive in the harsh conditions of a changing climate, you will have to constantly choose priorities.
- Get the resources you need to live
- Take care of your provisions
- Send expeditions to explore nearby areas
- Rebuild your city to better withstand the cold
- Try to maintain a balance and avoid conflicts between different factions
You can't do it all at the same time. You always have to choose. Sometimes it will even be necessary to make conscious sacrifices for the survival of the city.
Conflicts within a community are almost inevitable. Try not to turn them into a general riot. Do not forget that at the beginning of the game you were shown the unenviable fate of your predecessor.
Playing Frostpunk 2 may not appeal to particularly impressionable people. The developers have tried to bring what is happening as close as possible to what could be reality without trying to embellish or smooth over the harsh truth. The game is the ancestor of a genre that includes a survival simulator, economic strategy and city building. The project was highly acclaimed by critics and received the prestigious BAFTA award for it. The developers had to work hard to make the second part no less outstanding. This time, there are even more opportunities, and the climate has become even more severe.
The complexity is constantly increasing as the ambient temperature gets colder. This is a constant struggle to survive. As soon as you achieve some success, the conditions change and you have to fight for life again.
At the moment the project is in the early access stage, but now there are no critical errors and the game can be safely recommended. At the moment when you read what was written, the release may have already taken place and this means that the final edits have been made and you can spend even more fun and interesting time playing.
