Northgard real time strategy. This game is not typical for this genre. With its unhurried pace, the game is similar to turn-based strategies. If you like slow progress without having to constantly move around the map in pursuit of the split seconds that can separate victory from defeat, then you should enjoy the game. The mechanics of battles are not so developed here. The developers paid more attention to development than conquest.
At the start of the game, your Drakkar is caught in a storm and crashes on a small island. Then begins the exploration and colonization of the area.
Before playing Northgard, you need to choose a suitable clan.
There are ten of them in total:

- Hugin and Munin raven

Each of the clans has its own characteristics and its own management style. For example, for a deer, these are bonus resources at the beginning of the game, and for a dragon, these are sacrifices and slaves. You can read more about each of the clans when you make a choice. It is better to spend time on this at the beginning, because later it will not be possible to change it.
There are quite a few types of resources in the game. The main ones are food, wood and stone. Wood is used for building buildings and heating in winter. The stone is needed when upgrading houses and barracks. And for what food is needed, everyone knows so well. A word of advice, for food production, it is better to give priority to hunting. Hunting has no penalty in the winter, it brings a regular, steady supply of food.
These are the most important resources, but there are plenty of others, such as gold coins.
You also need to monitor the level of happiness of your workers, this parameter greatly affects population growth. As soon as the level of happiness drops to zero or below, you can not expect an increase in the number of peasants, and the productivity of workers drops significantly. To fix this, create socially significant buildings in a timely manner.
Any units are suitable for exploring the map, but be careful not to get too close to the lairs of wild animals, some of them are dangerous. After the area is explored, you can do colonization, this will allow you to expand your possessions.
It is very important to discover the objects of legend, if you find enough such places, then studying them is an even faster path to victory than the development of military art.
Victory can be achieved in the game in many ways.

- Developing science.
- After gaining a certain number of Fame Points.
- Military if you manage to defeat all opponents.

The combat system in the game is not too complicated, the developers did not focus on conquests. In addition, staying an army away from your territories for a long time worsens the statistics of the army.
