Tooth And Tail is a slightly unusual real time strategy game. The game has pixel graphics so beloved by many indie studios, but in this case they did a good job on it. The voice acting is excellent, as is the music. The game is very atmospheric.

The action takes place in the 19th century, in a world where there are no people, and society consists of animals of various species. Some of the inhabitants are chronically short of food and to overcome the food crisis, they decide to eat meat. The clergy, led by Archimedes, creates a lottery that decides which of the inhabitants can be eaten.
But the peasants, deciding that such a system puts the nobility in a too privileged position, start a revolution in order to overthrow the oppressors.
The clergy try to feign a neutral stance while supporting the aristocracy and the secret police. But the inhabitants have the most insidious plan, which, it would seem, cannot threaten anyone at all.

In the game you will be in the shoes of the leader of one of the factions of your choice.
There are four fractions in total:
- Commoners
- Cultural
- Long coats
- KSR
Each faction has its own units and headquarters.
The confrontation develops two factions against the other two.
There are two game modes available:
- Campaign
- Co-op mode
In co-op mode on the same PC, you can play with one of your friends by programming different parts of the keyboard, or by connecting two gamepads.
The game is optimized for using a gamepad and therefore it has a very peculiar unit control.
The head of your faction, a warlord with a banner, acts as a cursor. All the soldiers of your army follow him and attack the encountered enemies and enemy buildings. At first, this control scheme can be a little unusual. The construction of buildings, barracks for hiring soldiers and defensive structures is led by the same standard-bearer general.
The main resource in the game is food. Troops are hired for food, and with it you pay for the construction of buildings.
Food can be obtained from the farms located around the mills. Pigs work on farms, they are also responsible for the defense of these facilities. As soon as enemy troops appear, they stop working, take out pistols and start defending. They will not be able to resist the superior forces of the enemy for a long time, but this way you will have time to come to their aid.
The outcome of battles is mainly decided by the size of the army and by what kind of fighters it consists of. There are no combat tactics that can change the outcome of a battle in the game due to the specifics of squad management. The standard-bearer general himself does not directly participate in the battle, but can take damage, so try not to leave him in the thick of the battle for a long time.
