Total War: Warhammer 2
Total War: Warhammer 2 is another masterpiece from the Warhammer universe. The developers divided the giant map into three parts and released three separate games. Here is the second part. This is a serious fantasy strategy game with real-time combat. If this is the first game in the series that you play, be sure to complete the tutorial at the beginning, otherwise it can be difficult to figure out what's what. Despite the fact that this is only part of the trilogy, the graphics here have been significantly improved compared to the previous games in the series. There are other changes, more on them below.
Before playing Total War: Warhammer 2, you must choose one of the factions. There are four main factions in the game.
- Skaven rats. They fight in numbers, the most secretive, you never know where you will meet them.
- Reptilians, as it is not difficult to understand by name, lizards. This faction has very strong combat units, giant dinosaurs, dragons and much more.
- Dark elves have the most developed economy in the game. They are very bloodthirsty, for all their rituals they sacrifice huge numbers of slaves.
- High elves are born diplomats, they can easily pit neighboring states against each other and then defeat both sides.
Each faction has its own set of units, buildings, combat style, control features and even its own unique resource needed for the main rite.
There are minor factions from the previous parts, but you won't be able to play as them.
At the beginning of the game, all participants are far from each other at different ends of the map. This makes it possible to start playing more calmly and develop the economy and military affairs before the first skirmishes.
There are two types of victory.
- Military if your army has enough power to deal with all rivals.
- Or a quest one if you can complete all the story quests and perform the main rite, which will bend the giant whirlwind in the center of the map to your will.
The vortex was created by high elf sorcerers to protect the world from the creatures of chaos. But they have since lost control of him as he has become unstable. Your task is to take control of it by conducting the appropriate ceremony.
Sounds simple, but it's actually not quite like that. Everything is clear with a military victory, it will be difficult to deal with several opponents.
With the rite, everything is different. Once you have enough resources to perform, you will be able to start the rite in three randomly selected cities in your territory. These cities become something like beacons for enemy armies for ten turns. Be prepared for the fact that all the neighbors take up arms against you. In addition, several armies of chaos will appear in places where you would like to see them least of all and will begin to burn your settlements one by one. If you manage to survive, you won, if not, the rite will be interrupted and you will not be able to start a new one soon.
In addition to the main rite, there are others in the game. Don't forget about them. Performing rituals can give a bonus to resource extraction or strengthen armies. Sometimes this is a way out of a seemingly losing situation.
