- Find nearby places to quarry stone, wood and metal
- Build houses for your people
- Learn new technologies that will allow you to produce better weapons
- Provide enough defense for your town
After completing all these tasks, it will be possible to think about further conquests. When sending an army on a campaign, never leave too small a garrison in the settlement. Local lords will definitely take advantage of this situation to regain their lost lands. Even if it fails, their army can destroy much of what you have managed to achieve.
This settlement will not be the only one. Build fortresses to gain a foothold in new territories, establish trade relations between cities.
Playing Viking City Builder will be interesting because, in addition to incredible graphics, the developers have made efforts to recreate the era as accurately as possible. All buildings, both residential and commercial, are fully consistent with what real Vikings built. Weapons and customs also have analogues in the historical events of the Middle Ages.
The combat system is not too complicated, more attention is paid to tactics and strategy, as in many games of the genre.
Ruling the life of the empire and the economy is no less interesting than expanding your territories. Assign professions to people, define tasks and the sequence of their completion, train new warriors.
Everything matters, the world in the game is inhabited and not only people can pose a danger in it. Provide protection for lumberjacks and other workers outside the settlement, otherwise they may be attacked by a pack of wolves or, for example, a bear awakened from hibernation.
The lords who owned these lands before you are also far from harmless. Catching their villages by surprise, you can easily cope with the resistance. But as soon as the army of Europeans gathers and comes to reclaim their lands, you may have a hard time if you do not have time to build a powerful defense by then.
The game is exciting, and the landscapes are very beautiful, even though the project is in the early access stage. Before the release, a lot will be improved and supplemented.
