Wartales
Wartales is a modern turn based strategy game. It's a bit unusual to see good graphics in a game of this genre. For some reason, most often the developers of such games try to imitate the classics and sacrifice the quality of graphics so that the game has a classic look. It's nice to see that there are companies that create something of their own, and not trying to recreate third heroes in a modern way.
The game takes place in the Edoran Empire devastated by a great plague.
Before playing Wartales, select a region, there are three of them in the game so far, but the developers promise much more.

Not so little to start with. By the time you read this text, there may already be a dozen of them.
Now form your squad of mercenaries and go explore the provinces of the boundless empire.
Initially, your fighters will differ little from each other in abilities. As you play in certain situations, some of them may show a talent for opening locks, or stealth, and someone will turn out to be a stronger fighter or archer. Thus, additional specializations are opened.

Develop the direction that you consider a priority for a fighter.
In addition to the main storyline, a huge number of small quests await you in your travels. Complete all tasks, earn money and experience.
Wandering, you will often encounter enemies, of which there are many in the shattered empire. Robbers, deserter soldiers and even aggressive beasts. It is not necessary to engage in a fight every time, you can be smart and defuse the situation with a good joke or just pay off.
The battle takes place in turn-based mode. You will see two life bars for each fighter. The first is armor strength and the second is health. First of all, armor goes into consumption, and then health. When both bars are exhausted, the character receives a mark at death and any even the weakest blow for him will be the last. Instead of the fallen fighters, you can hire others, but this is not a full-fledged replacement. Therefore, it is better to do everything so as not to lose the original composition of the detachment.
You have a lot of opportunities in the game, at later levels you can even take control of entire areas.
Equipment and weapons play a significant role in the combat power of units. Try to equip your small army with the most powerful weapons and armor. All things can be improved, and if you want you can even create new ones.
You will need to pay your people daily wages and take care of food.
The game is currently in early access, but there are practically no problems and there is a lot of content. Later, the developers will add a few more campaigns and promise to diversify the already considerable arsenal of weapons. As can be judged from the previous products of the developer's company, these are not empty promises.
