The port is an important node that must be guarded, since it is a tasty morsel for the enemy. In the game Tide & Powder you will become the captain of a military sailing ship, which guards the port defense. There are shooting turrets on the shore, but they can destroy an enemy who has already approached the coast, and ships can destroy the enemy while still at sea, which reduces the risk to port facilities and landings. When you see approaching enemy ships, bring your ship out to meet them and actively fire, trying to either drive away or sink the enemy ship in Tide & Powder.
