Dorothy is not your typical girl living in the Wild West of Western Whodunit. She dresses like a man, deftly rides a horse and is excellent with both a whip and a Colt. The girls had to take on the man's job of managing the ranch after her uncle was killed. The sheriff conducted a superficial investigation and, not finding the killer, stopped it. This suggests that the law enforcement officer is unclean in the Ruu and probably knows who the criminal is, but is covering for him. The heroine herself decided to find out all the circumstances, find the killer and take revenge on him in her own way.
