Before you regular chess board, on which you'll build different goals, and they will be different colors, you'll need to put in any direction in a number of not less than five pieces, and then they can free up space on the field! You must be very careful that they set on their way to no barriers, just after each of your turns, there will be new, and that can prevent you remove them!
